I have been playing soccer seriously since I was in first grade. Since then, I’ve grown a great passion for the sport, with a determination to be the best, and play against the best. I’ve wanted to play college soccer for as long as I can remember and have worked incredibly hard to improve over the years to follow the path leading to the collegiate level.
I pride myself on my competitiveness, which I use to strive for the best, from myself and my teammates, as well as my determination and hard work, which have gotten me to the level I play at now. My love for the game constantly pushes me to win and improve.
Year round, I work hard on and off the pitch to excel athletically. In addition to practicing soccer daily, I keep in shape by hitting the gym and participating in indoor track. I’ve completed years of club soccer, played for high school at the varsity level since freshman year, played up in age group, linked with MLS Next, and now play in the competitive National Academy League. I’ve also attended several ID clinics, such as the CSA camp at Lasell University, Peak Performance Soccer (Amherst, Ma) and I plan to attend many more.
In addition to athletics, I excel academically. As 1st in my class, I work hard to maintain all A’s throughout every year, including taking honors and AP (US History, Biology, Language Arts and Calculus) . I’m active in many extracurricular activities, such as Student Council of which I’m Secretary, founding member of Tantasqua Interact Club (in partnership with Sturbridge Rotary Club), Cancer Kids First Club (Secretary) as well as ski club. I also plan to make the National Honor Society in my Junior year and run for Student Council Vice President. I volunteer at the local community garden, for fundraisers and events at my school, and for fundraisers outside of school, including the non-profit Kids in the Congo. I’ve coached youth soccer and plan to volunteer as a coach for a local indoor league.
I strive to attend a school where I can stand out and grow, both in the classroom and on the pitch. I hope to challenge myself academically, while playing at the optimal level of college soccer, and my options are open. I believe that if I continue down a path of individual self-improvement, with the support of my family and peers, I can achieve my athletic and academic collegiate goals.
