Growing up I have been heavily involved in a number of sports, including AAU and travel basketball, club soccer, lacrosse and cross country running. I have always enjoyed putting forth my best effort and each of these experiences has helped shape the person and competitor that I am today as a high school student athlete. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to play volleyball prior to high school. However, this past summer (2017), I knew that I wanted to play for the high school team and started to train. I attended volleyball camp and woke up at 6AM for plyometric conditioning workouts with the varsity high school football team. As a result of my hard work I made the varsity volleyball team, having never played before.
During my first year of organized volleyball, I started as an outside hitter and middle blocker for the varsity team. I became a key contributor to the team and continued to learn and enjoy the game more throughout the season. In November 2017, I made the decision to try out for club volleyball as I wanted to continue to learn from the best coaches and develop my understanding of the game. I made the top U-15 team for the SMASH Volleyball Club, one of the top clubs in New England. As I continue to work on my skills and compete at the highest level, I have made the decision that I want to continue to play volleyball in college. Volleyball is something that, while I just started to play, I am truly passionate about.
