Soccer has always been a passion of mine as far back as I can remember. At a young age, I naturally gravitated towards the goalkeeper position and never looked back. Getting to where I am today has not always been an easy path. There have been plenty of times where I had to work my way on to a team and began as a backup to older goalkeepers, and through hard work and dedication, I have consistently worked my way to the starting position.
In three years of high school soccer, I have built a record of 46-1-1. In the 2019 season, I went 17-0, allowing only three goals against, and won the Vermont State Division 1 championship. In addition to high school soccer, I also play club soccer with Far Post Soccer Club which has given me access to some of the best coaches in the region. I have also had the opportunity to train at Ajax Amsterdam and play against some of the best youth teams in Holland. In addition to my physical abilities as a goalkeeper, one of my strengths is the ability to quickly identify the weaknesses of other players and use that weakness to my advantage. For example, when a player relies heavily on one foot or struggles to make specific passes, I am able to notice their deficiency and to direct the defense appropriately to eliminate that player's effectiveness.
In middle school, I began contributing to community service by coaching and mentoring the local youth soccer team. Also, I spent two weeks playing and volunteering with Woza soccer in Costa Rica, both coaching and playing alongside current professional and former players of the Costa Rican national team.
All of these experiences have helped to shape me into a strong, well-rounded player with a focus on giving back to the community.
