FERNANDO GONZALEZ '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Fernando Gonzalez and I’m a 5’10”, 160 pound, central midfielder from Puerto Rico ,who has lived in  St.Louis Missouri for the past 13 years. When on the pitch, my prefered position would be defensive midfielder, but I am more than capable and willing to play higher on the pitch.  I have been exceedingly committed to soccer for most of my life and would love to play it at the next level: college. I have played competitive club soccer for 12 years having my most successful club season in 2016-2017 with St. Louis Scott Gallagher when we won the Missouri State Cup. Furthermore, we went undefeated in National League, which secured us a spot at the National Championships. At Nationals, we placed 3rd. More so, I have also been a part of the varsity team at my high school: Parkway West. On 2016-2017 season, we made it to the district finals. Last season, we won the Conference Championship. Although soccer is my first passion and love, I highly value my education and I work very hard to make sure that I am continuously learning and growing as a person. With the discipline I have acquired through soccer, I have been able to average a 3.95 GPA with multiple honors and AP classes. Additionally, I received a Super Score of 31 on the ACT and a 1420 on the SAT. When choosing a university, I am searching for an institution that will challenge me both academically and athletically, plus offers a good Political Science program.
