There are many factors that come in to play when talking about how my life has been influenced. With the help of good parenting and well picked friend groups I have been shaped into an athlete and an intelligent person who achieves his goals. My biggest influence is my mom and dad. My mom got me into soccer and taught me morals while growing up so I had a very good understanding of what was right and what was wrong. This has helped me to make the right decisions when confronted. Another big influence is my dad who was very athletic and smart so we share a similar life growing up. He introduced me to a lot of different sports like baseball, basketball, and football which is what he played growing up alongside soccer. My last influences are my friends, who are a good mix of athletic and smart kids. They push me in practice making sure I work my hardest and in school we keep each other on track to make sure we are getting our work done to the best of our ability.
Things I’ve learned about myself through playing sports are how competitive I am. How much drive I have to want to be the best and how in turn that means working together as a team to achieve goals. It’s taught me how to be a gracious loser as well, with good sportsmanship. You can't win them all and losing composure can cost everyone on the team. Sports has taught me how to go back to the drawing board so to speak and work harder. Sometimes you just have to rework the plays and change can be good for everyone. And listening as simple as that seems has been essential for me. I have been praised by my coaches and teachers since I was little for my ability to focus, listen to what is being said and execute on what was needed on the field and in the classroom.
Goals for highschool are to achieve the best grades I can. Preparing myself to take as many honors classes while competing at the highest level possible in sports. Being prepared to take my ACT or SAT’s. I am looking to get into the best academic schools available to me. I’m hoping to be part of taking my school's soccer team back to the state championships and proving my worth to the upperclassman, showing them that I belong on the varsity team even as a freshman.
My goal is to make sure I reach my fullest potential academically and athletically. I am determined to be the very best I can be regardless of how hard the work is. In fact I wholeheartedly believe the harder the work the better I do. I enjoy being held to a higher standard of accountability and succeeding.
