Matthew Devine '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing soccer for 9 years so far, and have enjoyed every second of it. It has been my goal for a while now to play at the collegiate level, and I understand that it is a great opportunity. I became interested in soccer when I went to my first Sporting KC game against the Red Bulls, and ever since I couldn't stop watching and playing the great game. I love winning, and find fun in winning. I strive for excellence in soccer and academics, and I believe in hard work and dedication. I have learned how much of a competitive person I am from all my years of sports, and I have learned how important it is to be close to your team and coach in competitive sports. 

I have been influenced by my dad's determination to be the best he can be in everything he does. My mom's constant hard work and love she puts towards the family makes me determined to be a good person. My grandparents have shown me the importance of family in every aspect of my life. When it comes to academics, I always do my best to learn and put forth as much effort as I can to obtain not only good grades, but knowledge and understanding of each and every subject that I touch in my academic career. My goals for college are to be the best athlete and student that I can possibly be, and to prepare myself for the real world and adulthood.
