My name is Austin Favela and I’m a 5’8” 150 lb attacking center midfield player. I started playing recreational soccer at the age of 5 and got the opportunity to start playing competitive soccer at the age of 13. I have a serious passion for the beautiful game. Playing soccer has shaped me into a respectful, responsible, and mentally strong individual. No matter what team I play for, I always strive to grow and develop as a player and individual. Since starting competitive soccer, I’ve been with 3 different clubs because of team disintegration and the new US youth soccer age group mandate. For every team I have played for, I was always a starter and played for the entire game. The last 2 years I have been asked by coaches to dual roster with a higher age group within the club. I have helped lead my teams to 8 tournament victories while being the lead scorer. In high school, I was 1 of 3 freshmen to play on the Junior Varsity high school team and was never subbed out. My freshman year of high school was a struggle academically; however, I’m determined to work hard, study, and take advantage of after school tutoring my sophomore year and going forward to increase my GPA. With the help of my teachers, I’m learning to work through my learning disabilities to become successful in high school. My goal is to play college soccer while obtaining my educational degree in biology/genetics.
