Isaac Nickens '21 Recruiting Profile

    I grew up playing all types of sports with my older brothers. Being the youngest in the family, my brothers and the boys we played with were always bigger and stronger than me, so I always worked on improving my technical ability in order to compete. By constantly playing with the older boys I cultivated the competitive and determined mindset I have to this day.

    As a sixth grader, I witnessed my future high school program win the Missouri state championship. Seeing that game really inspired me to work for that title in the future. As a sophomore, my team had a chance to win the title. We lost the semi-final game and placed 4th in the state. Being so close to the championship inspired me to really step up and help lead the program going into my junior year. My junior year we finished 2nd.

    Academics have always been a top priority to me as a student athlete. I’m looking for a school that will challenge me academically as well as surround me in an environment with other players that will constantly push me to reach my potential.
