My greatest influence in soccer from the start was my uncle. He had signed me up for a CYC team in first grade and from there I fell in love with the sport. The thing that I enjoy about soccer is the exercise you get and learning how to play, but also how to be respectful and show sportsmanship. Through soccer, I have learned that I am able to show perseverance. My coaches have told me that I never give up and have good work ethic on the field and in practice, along with being able to step up and lead a team. During the last four years, I have been selected captain, a role that I take very seriously, leading vocally and by example.
My academic goals for my remaining years in high school are to raise and maintain my GPA to at least a 3.5. Another goal I have is to complete three years of Spanish because I believe it will be beneficial to me throughout life. Although I haven't decided on an area of study, I would obviously like to play soccer throughout college and earn a worthwhile degree.
