My name is Dylan Spivy. I am the starting Forward/Striker for both my Club Team named Southwest Missouri Rush (SWMO Rush 2005 Azul) and my high school JV team as a Freshman, as well as Varsity starter 2022-23, at Glendale High School in Springfield, MO. These teams are highly competitive and successful, and my statistics continue to mount in goals and assists. With my former club team, Demize Academy, now absorbed in a merger with another club, we won multiple league and tournament championships. What I value most from those experiences are not the stats and wins, but the life-long friendships that were created as well as the development experience I received from my coaches. I am currently surrounded by coaches and training staff that continue to assist in my skill development. My personal goal is to become the best teammate, player and person that I can be on and off the soccer field.
I learned from a young age that I wanted to play sports. I began playing soccer, football, baseball and basketball at age 5 in local youth sports and with my family. My interest has evolved and narrowed to the sport of soccer. Soccer is my passion and hopefully a ticket into college and a career that I choose. As I continue to grow physically, currently 6'2" as a Junior in high school, I hope to mature mentally as a person and a player. I love the game of soccer, and enjoy watching and studying the game from all aspects. I enjoy watching soccer being played in multiple leagues, both foreign and domestic, and I hope that I can one day become a part of that experience.
My schoolwork and academics are very important to me. My last semester as an 11th grader at Glendale in Springfield, MO, I achieved a 3.95 GPA. In 2020's academic environment dealing with online learning due to COVID-19 as well as today’s in-person coursework, I am still challenged daily with tough academic courses. My academic interests are marketing, business management, athletics, and art. My goal is to use my soccer and athletic skills to hopefully earn an honor of playing college soccer while I achieve my academic goals.
My soccer strengths include both physical and mental abilities. I am naturally strong in my left foot, but have significant strength and skill with my right foot as well. I have been looked at by my teammates and coaches as a natural leader on and off the field. As the starting striker for my teams, I am looked upon for guidance and leadership during practices and games. I enjoy this challenge, and am always looking to develop my own skills and abilities.
Attending college and playing college soccer has always been a dream of mine, and I hope to fulfill that dream with a great college program one day. I will plan to graduate in 2024 from Glendale High School, and I am looking forward to continuing development as a player and person. I love my teams, and am excited for future challenges and experiences. I hope to meet some college coaches, recruiters and players along the way that will help guide me in my college choices. With the help from my family, church, friends and soccer coaches, I hope to make a quality decision on which college to attend.
