Jacob Garcia '22 Recruiting Profile

I am constantly aspiring to learn more about what I can do to grow and excel in whatever I’m doing. I will not always be perfect but I have a drive to be great and to work harder than everyone else. I am focused in the classroom and out on the field at all times. I am the engine to my soccer team and in the classroom because I work diligently  to make sure everything is flowing. Lastly, I am very competitive and I will do whatever it takes to succeed, but, I am aware that failure is necessary in order to grow! In the past, our club team has traveled to big events like the National League and the Regional tournament for the Midwest and I have proven to step up in those big games when it matters most. I am able to play in high pressure games because I remain confident in my abilities and I play every game with the intention to have fun because I love the game so much. I have also been in the Nebraska ODP program for about 2 years and have gone with the team to Memphis, Tennessee to compete in the ODP showcase. For my club team last season in the Midwest Conference I was one of the top scores in the league with 7 goals in 7 games. I am a team first player and I put the team’s success first over individual success while competing. I make sure everyone on the field is confident in what they’re doing and I make sure that everyone feels involved. I love going out of town and representing the state of Nebraska because I know I am playing for something bigger than myself. I am very involved in my community as I love to go to events that support a cause or need or if I am able to volunteer somewhere.
