My mother nicknamed me Buddha at the time of birth because I was a 10 pound, 2 ounce baby. Never in the history of soccer, cound a nickname fit a player better. Currently, I am 6'0, 184 pounds. Everyone says I belong on the football field because I have a very muscular build. The varsity football coach even went out of his way to personally introduce himself to me and attempt to persuade me to change sports. With all that being said, I am a force to be reckoned with on the soccer field. Not only do I have the size, but I am one of the fastest players in all of Northern Nevada, if not the fastest player.
As an underclassman this year, I wasn't the captain of the team. However, the team still recognized my leadership skills and followed my examples both during the game and practice. Being and overall young team this year, I encouraged the team to keep our heads up when we lost the close the ones, to work on our weaknesses, and to grow overall as a team. By the end of the season, parents, referees, and coaches were complementing the success and growth our team had accomplished in such a short time. Therefore, I feel I would be an asset to have on your team, not only on your defense, but for the team's morale as well.
