Profile
Ever since I can remember I have loved playing soccer. My father is from Argentina and I think I was able to kick a ball as soon as I could walk. Watching soccer games on television and kicking the ball around is a constant in our household. I started playing competitively at age 5. My family has moved a few times and I have been on different teams, playing in different states, and at different levels. From 2015 until fall of 2020 I had lived in Massachusetts and moved up from NEP to NPL to ECNL. I graduated in May 2021 through US Performance Academy online school for elite athletes while in Spain. At the present, I am attending the International Development Academy in Valencia, Spain for a gap year. Last year I also played at IDA and I was chosen player of the season by the coaches for my performance on and off the pitch. This year I am proud to be one of the captains of the academy team while also playing in the Spanish League for UD Vall de Uxó.
My goal is to play at the college level as I follow my dream to play professional soccer. I have mostly played forward and wing during my soccer career but last year started playing defensive midfielder. I believe I am a very versatile player, having great foot skills and the knowledge to play different positions. Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to learn more about me.
My ability
"Marcos, you have been an incredible utility player. Your knowledge of the game allows you to read situations combined with your strength and technical ability, allows you to control games". UW-Madison Elite soccer camp coach, 2019. I appreciate all the feedback I get from coaches and feel this quote is a good representation of who I am.
I am a box-to-box midfielder who reads the game to break up play (intercept/regain) to play forward on one and two touches. Some of my strengths are interceptions to play forward, Long passing, Short passes, Decision making, Box to box midfielder, Heading (aerial duels), Strong in the tackle and Reading the game
My philosophy
I like to think of myself as a good team player and a good teammate. I really feel it is important to contribute to the teams that I am on in many ways. At the same time I know have to always work on my own skills and try to concentrate on what I can control. It is not always easy :). I very much enjoy the camaraderie of being on a team and helping my team be better.
My dreams
My time now in Valencia is a great challenge and I feel is preparing me bigger and greater opportunities in the future. During my time here I have been playing against all levels in Spain, Liga Nacional, Liga Preferent and mens teams in Preferent. It has been a very good experience preparing me for my future and for the many challenges I will have ahead. This experience has matured me and has made me very dedicated to the sport of soccer. I will continue to work hard to achieve my goals of playing for a professional soccer team wherever the opportunity comes and is the right decision for me.
