Hello Coach,
My name is Jacobus McClure from Las Cruces, NM. I play on the Las Cruces High school Varsity Soccer team and a Rio Strikers 98. My goal is to play College soccer. Just to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a keeper on my club and school team. I have played soccer since I was four. I Love the sport. I have played with New Mexico ODP 98's from 2011-2015. I had a great experience traveling to Las Vegas and playing in Regional Championships where this year we lost to Utah in semi finals. I also was selected to the Region IV All-Star team which is a big honor. My club team is Rio Rapids Striker's FC 98. We made it to the semifinals of NM state cup this past year befor loosing to the new state champs. I was asked to guest play for Albuquerque's Rio Rapids 97's where I accompanied them to Hawaii and helped them place in the tournament. Last summer I was asked to go to England and play with San Antonio United and a select number of prospected players to be recruited for the RIASA program. It was a great experience to see all the amazing stadiums and to play at a higher level. Last year Las Cruces High won state and we will have another amazing team. I am so excited for my Junior and Senior year in this program. I have been honored to receive 2 player of the game awards, LCPS tournament MVP, first team All-District, and honorable mention All-State goalkeeper. This summer I have had the great opportunity to train and play with the Colorado Rapids u18 Academy team as well as the u16 FC Dallas team where I experienced great coaching staffs and challenged the other goalkeepers.
As a student, I strive for the best as well. I currently have a 4.1 GPA and I have earned a 29 on my ACT. My Freshman year I had a 4.0. Last year I earned all A's but a B in Pre AP Biology. My junior year I took 3 AP classes and one honors class and kept up with my soccer schedule. I am ranked 10 out of 303 in my class. My family has a feed store and an arena where I work constantly. I am interested in majoring in business or agriculture. I believe that hard work and dedication will be the key to my success.
