I want to study engineering in college and continue to play sports in order to maintain a high level of fitness and to help me to balance school and other interests. I am a good candidate for a team that is looking for an athlete that puts their heart into everything they set forth to accomplish and support my team to its fullest. I want to be a part of a team that sticks together and believes that we are stronger as a team, not as individuals. I am different than most recruits because I strongly believe that academics are a priority because nobody can take away what you have learned in school and in life, even after you are too old to compete in a sport. However, I believe that the sports that I play have helped to shape my personality in life so far. I am a goalkeeper that understands the importance of my position of seeing the game from a different perspective and keeping the team on track during a game. As a skier, my success or wins are truly a result of the effort that I have put forth in my training on and off the mountain, unlike a team sport. I also know what it is like to be the complete and sole focus during my races and have learned how to manage the psychological game of an individual sport. I can apply all of these skills to college and life as a whole.
