February 2021Personal Statement
My name is James Swindells and I'm currently going into my Senior year at Islip High School. I enjoy playing soccer and basketball, but soccer is my primary sport. My ultimate goal is to play soccer at the collegiate level. I've always been a dedicated and conscientious player, both on the field and in school. Almost two years ago, I was hurt while participating in a tournament, and had to have ACL surgery, at first it was really hard to not be able to play. However, I've come to learn that through dedication and a lot of hard work, I am now an even stronger and better player, and can appreciate everything (body, mind and spirit) that goes into playing a sport that you truly love.
