Personal Statement

I have been playing soccer since I was 5 and have always had a special passion for the game. I played little league travel and now playing club soccer, I was on JV for 2 years and 1 year varsity. Since I was a kid I always wanted to get better and played at a higher level, and I believe that I have the passion, work rate, commitment and focus to make that happen.

Assistant Coach Austin Solomon Mercyhurst University: One thing that was noticeable was that your performance improved as the camp went on; this was consistent with a group of campers and it may be because people were feeling more comfortable in the that environment as time went by. I thought you had a few very good saves and shot stopping was definitely your biggest asset. When we recruit a goalkeeper, we often say that we are looking for one who makes the saves he should make, takes command of his box, leads the defenders in front of him and, every now and then, pull a save that he had no business saving. We believe a goalkeeper should be consistent so the back line can trust him and they can work together more efficiently. I liked that you often decided to play short when the situation was asking you to do so. That awareness is important because you can manage those certain points/situations of the game and set the team up for better chances of succeeding in a particular play. A few mistakes here and there but that is normal given that you were getting used to the environment and people. I liked how you remained in the game and let those mistakes go; that speaks about your character and how you always have to focus on the next play.
