My passion for soccer dates back many years. I started playing when I was three years old in my backyard. Some days I would stay out for hours, not wanting to come inside. As I grew up, soccer stayed with me everywhere I went. If I wasn't playing, then I would watch games on TV, which is still the case today. I knew soccer was more than a hobby for me when simply touching a soccer ball was the highlight of my day. Today, I still feel these emotions when playing and watching soccer. In addition, soccer has taught me how to overcome difficult challenges. For example about three years ago I was placed on a team two years above my age group that was ranked within the top five in the nation. At first, I was scared to even touch the ball, but after playing and adapting to the team, I now enjoy playing with the team. I know that I have grown stronger by overcoming this challenge.
Although soccer is a big part of my life, I am also very serious academically. I believe that a school which is strong both academically and athletically is the best fit for me. Both school and soccer have taught me strong moral values that I can carry with me throughout my life. As a result, my leadership and discipline allow me to be a great teammate and model for others to follow!
