My name is Terence White Jr, but I prefer to go by my middle name, MarQuis. I'm 18, currently a senior in HS, and I'm expected to graduate in January. Soccer has always been an anchor in my life for as long as I can remember, I've played for 11 years . The sport itself motivates me to be a better player as well as a better person. It kept me strong through the hardest situations. I'm the former Captain for the soccer team SNL City, a team formed by the soccer program called Saturday Night Lights. The program is meant to keep young kids and teenagers such as myself from making poor decisions on the streets at night. I've become a better me because of it. I'm the kind of leader that acknowledges the mistakes I make, takes time to learn from it to ensure that I understand it in which I prevent it from happening again, and using the lessons and techniques I've learned to inspire others around me to do the same for themselves.
