Giacomo Vacchio '24 Recruiting Profile

Growing up in an Italian American family I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old, and I remember the first day I stepped on the pitch. I joined my uncle’s soccer team along with my cousin who shared my passion for the sport. As I developed my skills, my love for this lifestyle grew as well. I enjoy all aspect of the game and give 100 percent regardless if it’s for a club team, school team or just playing with friends in my backyard. 

The skills I learned as a child are what helped me accomplish all I have in the last few years for my club and school team.  Starting my high school career on Junior Varsity scoring 20 goals along with 9 assists. This exceeded the previous record of 12 goals, allowing us to go undefeated as conference Champions for the second year in a row. This previous year as an 11th grade starter on varsity I tallied 11 goals and 2 assists, helping my team win a conference title with an undefeated record of 11-0-3. I concluded the 2022 fall season with an All County award as the leading goal scorer of my team. I was recently honored with being named one of Newsday's "Top 100 on Long Island." My ambition is to keep growing as an athlete on and off the field with the help of a great university.
