My goals are to major in Theater Arts and/or Theology, play soccer at a collegiate level, and graduate successfully. Soccer has been my main focus outside of school. I found soccer to be natural to me. I can see the field, see the players and think 3 moves ahead. I have played organized soccer since I was 7, but I had a soccer ball on my foot since I could walk. I moved up quickly and started Club ball at age 11. My favorite type of soccer is played barefoot, on concrete in Costa Rica. My grandparents are Missionaries in Costa Rica and mission throughout Central America. I spend most of every summer there. I have learned many styles of Futbol, while traveling with my grandparents. This has improved my foot skills greatly.
While playing Club Ball, OCSA 96B Coastal Crew, our team was very successful. We have played in multiple tournaments in NC, GA, SC, VA. and won several of these tournaments as well as State Titles.
My freshman year in high school, I was the leading goal scorer on the JV team even though I had knee surgery half way through the season. Sophomore year, I was leading goal scorer on the JV team, and again had knee surgery on the other knee half way through the season. My junior year, I played varsity and was the second leading goal scorer on the team by one goal. This past season, I transferred schools, and played Varsity as a senior. I finished the season, leading the team with 17 goals. We went to Regionals this year.
I believe that I would be a great asset to any team. I am not flashy, but I can definitely get the job done, whether it is scoring or setting up plays. I am a team player and I would like to have an NCAA championship to add to my collection of achievements.
Thank You and God Bless, Dakoda Rush
