I'll be honest. My past has not been impressive at all. I was an average player, just scraping by and having a good time with my teammates. I always had that desire to become better, but my effort never stayed consistent. Luckily, I tried out for a team in Colombia, in which I failed miserably. Later on that summer (of 2019), I tried out at NC Fusion for the first time ever, selected in the Bronze team, the lowest category. I really hit a low point in my life there.
Suddenly, I decided that I needed to change my life around if I wanted to keep my dreams alive. I spent extra time on the field, focusing on conditioning and skills. I also started working out every single day to 'fill up my sleeve'.
In 2019, I was 5'9'' and weighed 116lbs. Now, I am 5'11" and weigh 158lbs. I went from an average varsity player to becoming captain for my high school team for my senior year (which is still ongoing). For NC Fusion, I spent the entire summer training with the Gold team, a big step up for me.
I am one that cannot brag about my skills or anything like that, because I didn't have anything until recently. The fruits of my work are just now starting to show, and I feel more confident than ever.
To keep it short, on the academic side my GPA is 4.219 and ACT 25.
To mix both the athletic and academic side, I aspire to play for a college that provides me with an opportunity to play soccer in their program, while also studying what I like best: which is the pharmacy field.
