Alex Normandeau '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Alex Normandeau and I am a 2005-born goalkeeper. I would like to play soccer at an NCAA Division 1 school where I can balance academics and athletics. I would like to use university as a stepping stone to my ultimate aspiration of playing soccer professionally. 

I am a great candidate for your team and program because I am a very competitive, motivated and hard-working leader. I have been playing the sport for a while and my more logical/analytical brain has allowed me to develop quite a profound tactical knowledge of the game. I am strong in all aspects of goalkeeping but my stronger suits are leadership, communication, technique, distribution, tactical awareness and aid to the team in build-up or attack. 

What separates me from the rest of the recruits is that my leadership and mentality will definitely change the environment of the team. I am not afraid to speak up and lead a squad of players I don't even know. I have been the captain of my team for 4 years and, along with my teammates, have created a respectful but competitive culture. I am a very technical goalkeeper which can get me out of difficult situations in matches. I am also academically talented and have maintained high marks for my whole schooling career. I have also had some experience playing in Europe, in the Czech Republic, at the EON Camp in 2018, the Magic Cup Sumava 2019 and currently play for SK Dynamo's u18 and u19 teams in the Czech Republic's first division. I have been on trial with TFC twice and made Team Ontario in 2020.
