Nicholas Phyllis '21 Recruiting Profile

I love to play soccer and I love to learn both on and off the field.  I am a hard working and very coach-able player! It is important for me to lead by example and for my team to learn and grow together.  I am a hard working student  in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA!

In the past 2 years I have played in the men's league Division I & Division II.  As a 15 - 16 year old player,  I  was in the top 10 scorers in Division I in both the  2018/2019 indoor and 2019 outdoor seasons.  In Division II, I was the league MVP in the 2018/2019 indoor season and the leading scorer in the 2019 outdoor season.  Several players playing in the men's league are currently or have played Division I soccer in the US or are playing for the Chill PDL team.

In February of 2019 our Thunder Bay Chill team won the U18 Division(I was playing up 2 age groups) in the Golden Boy Indoor Tournament in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  I was the tournament and our teams leading scorer, scoring 4 of our 5 goals in regular play and scoring in penalty shots in the final game.  

In the past 3 years I have attended soccer camps and academies in Europe.  In June of 2016 I attended the Udinese Soccer Camp.  In the same year I attended the Sporting Lisbon Academy with 20 players picked from North America by Alex Bunbury.  In November of 2018, I was again selected by Alex Bunbury to attend the 1 Decembre academy for a week.  In the summer of 2018 I was selected to attend the West Ham United National Camp in Rome Georgia.  From the National Camp I was selected to attend the West Ham United International Camp in London England, where we practiced with the West Ham United Academy Coaches and played exhibition games against the U19 Academy team .

I played several years in the Thunder Bay Chill Soccer Club.  The Thunder Bay Chill Soccer Club is a well known club and has won the USL2(PDL) Championship.

Currently I am playing with the ABSA - Alex Bunbury Soccer Academy in Minneapolis Minnesota
