Zachary Geaneotes '11 Recruiting Profile

By way of introduction, my name is Zachary Geaneotes and I am a senior at Harriton High School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. I am a two sport varsity player, having been an avid wrestler and soccer player since the third grade but have identified soccer as the sport that I'd most like to pursue. If you combine my strong competitive nature and excellent record that I have had during my soccer career, you will surely see that I bring much to the table. I plan on devoting as much time that is needed to find the best match for me in a collegiate environment not only from an athletic capacity, but an academic one as well. From a physical standpoint, I stand 5 feet 10 inches tall and weigh 150 pounds. I have been player soccer for 10+ years and have played in elementary school through high school and with Lower Merion Travel soccer club. I have been a starting player with my travel team since its inception at age 8, and have been a starting varsity player with Harriton High School for the last two years. Prior to my junior year, I was a starter with Harriton High School's JV team. I have been touring many colleges in order to get a good feel for all types of institutions; big, small, close to home, far from home, Division 1, II and 111 schools. I don't have a preference as to the distance from my home. Applying for financial aid is highly likely and my hope is that I will qualify for federal aid and grants. I have identified some areas that interest me in regard to a major in college, but have not come to a complete decision. Some areas include, Sports Medicine, Communications and Marketing. I am still doing my homework in regard to making a decision and hope to have this finalized soon. I am highly confident that I can bring extreme value to a soccer program. In terms of DI, D2 and D 3, I am open to any to all in my pursuit of finding the best fit for me. In closing, I'd like to stress that I am a smart player, adaptable, talented, highly competitive and have very strong leadership qualities. I look forward to speaking to any college or university about my capabilities and am extremely excited about my both my future as a soccer player as well as pursuing a rewarding academic career.
