My name is Connor Wetzel and I am 5’10”, 145 Ibs. My most natural position on the field is either center or outside back. I am currently a Junior at Germantown Academy where I have a 3.7 GPA. During my career of playing soccer competitively, I have won five state championships and have made it to the regional championship once. I would say that I am known for my aggressiveness and passion for the sport as I would not know what I would do without this amazing sport. During my freshman season, I made the varsity team as I started as an outside back and I was awarded second-team all-league. My sophomore year was extremely special as I was awarded team MVP and made the all-league first-team. During my sophomore season, I learned the importance of leadership and leading by example as I led my team to a winning record for the first time in ten years. Unfortunately, my junior season was cut short as we were only able to compete in three games. This year was looking like our best year as we were getting excited for a long run in states. Although I was very disappointed in not having a season, what I learned from those three games is the importance of never taking anything for granted as anything can end like that. No matter what you are doing, I learned that you should do everything to the best of your ability and that is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
