Honorable Coaches,
Every time I get pushed down I come back again, stronger. Every time I don’t make it, and fail; I persevere until I reach new heights. To reflect on what happened with diligence and vigilance with the goal of improving all aspects of myself. This pattern has been demonstrated throughout my entire life. Every single time I wasn’t deemed as quite good - within a year I came back as the man that could be trusted. Leading these teams to championships and titles, pushing through any injury, all to, as my coaches have pointed out, motivate the team to success that wasn’t thought of the previous season.
I am a successful soccer player who seeks high academic rigor. I have been starting as a varsity center back, holding midfielder, and offense midfielder for both of my high school seasons. I have been playing for Global Premier Soccer (GPS) for five years as a holding midfielder and center back. I have participated in tournaments throughout the East Coast such as the Disney tournament, Jefferson Cup, and many GPS showcases. The team also traveled to train in Italy with the top academies and with international and local coaches to teach us through with widely varying play and training styles.
For my academics, I take all honors classes and will participate in three AP courses next year. I have been on the honor roll every year, peer tutored two students into passing their math classes and was specially selected to mentor a failing student during middle school. I was selected for the National Junior Honor Society and the Atticus Finch reward.
Soccer has stood by my side through thick and thin. This sport has taught me the intricacies of life like the loving mentor it is. Soccer has demonstrated the qualities of a great leader and led me on a path to become one. It has taught me to come back stronger and like a best friend picked me up when I fail, and revealed to me how to do the same for others. But the most important thing that soccer has established for me, is how to master myself in any scenario emotionally, physically, or even spiritually. My adoration of the game might be unrivaled; however, what truly sets me apart from my peers are my unique qualifiers such as my leadership, passing accuracy, ball control, strategy, composed nature when pressured, defensive ability, field vision, and coachability.
