I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and it has been my favorite activity since then. I was born in Santa Cruz, California where I played Recreational Soccer as a kid. By 10yo, I was playing with the adults of the Latino community who hosted big pick up soccer games in the park throughout the week. This was super inspiring!
My first tryouts for a Club team were in the Fall of 2019, I tried out for two different clubs Sharks (Santa Cruz) and Surf (Live Oak). I was invited to both but decided to go with the team I thought I could grow with best as a player, the Sharks. I started off playing with the C team before advancing all the way up to the A team by the next Fall season. I played with the Sharks A team a second season as well.
In the Summer of 2021 I moved with my mom to Charleston, South Carolina, so obviously we had missed official tryouts. We immediately reached out to two teams - Surf (Mt. Pleasant) and JIYSC (James Island Youth Soccer Club) - for a special try out. I was told by JIYSC that I could join the practice team since they already had enough players for their official game teams. After the first practice, they invited me to join the A team to play games during the Fall 2021/Spring 2022 season. I also played with JIYSC in the Fall of 2022 and 2023.
In the Spring of 2023, I tried out for the JV High school team at Academic Magnet, our sister school no the same campus as my high school. I made the team and have been a starter for both seasons including the current one. I was even asked to play for a few Varsity games in 2023 and scored a goal off a corner kick in my first game with that team. In 2024, I have been called up for several Varsity games and have played a fair amount of the time in a handful of them.
I think I am a unique player that has a good sense of full field vision, communicates well, and can be a leader on the team. I have past experience with playing as a goalie, defender, winger, striker, and the position I play now as an attacking midfielder. I am dangerous outside the goal box! As an ambidextrous player, I have a strong dominant right and left foot shot. I have had a clean sheet of never getting a yellow or red card during my career, but can still be physically assertive on and off the ball. My strong foot work paired with my speed creates many opportunities for me to dribble past opponents and make key passes to wingers and strikers. With lightening speed reflexes and a positive attitude, I'm also excellent under pressure.
Once I started taking soccer seriously I made it my goal to play professionally. I can see that the first step is to play Collegiate Soccer. As of now, I am not clear about the location or type of college, but I am looking towards enrolling in a college that allows me to develop my musical pursuits. I am excited to hear from you!
