When I was three, my parents enrolled me in youth soccer with my dad (a former player) as my first coach. I continued to play at various offensive positions, not really finding my passion until I was 12. My club team needed a goalkeeper, so I volunteered to take on the roll. I fell in love with the position and have enjoyed devoting myself to training my natural abilities to be the best keeper I can.
Since early childhood I’ve wanted to play soccer in college. It’s the natural next step for pursuing both my degree and post -collegiate soccer. I would enjoy being surrounded by equally focused and talented players, high level committed coaches, and the structure collegiate soccer would provide.
I prioritize a commitment to training and organize extra training sessions each week with my teammates. I value being trusted and respected by my peers, coaches, and administration.
I can bring a lot to a team and a program. I feel my strongest attribute as a keeper is my speed and intelligence. I’m a bit shorter than some other keepers, which I make up for with my quickness and intuition when facing both attacking scenarios as well as when distributing in counter attacks.
I recently assisted my club team (One Knox) by saving 3/5 PK’s in the state semi-finals to send us to the championship game.
I also have quite a bit of field experience as a striker and am comfortable with the ball at my feet. My passion and understanding of the striking positions helps my intellect as a keeper. As a sophomore, I was chosen over our senior keeper in high school for PKs and other high pressure scenarios.
Aside from soccer, I have a strong social media presence where I post videos of my training, game highlights, and saves. This has led to a passion for editing, production, and pursing a career in digital media and sports videography.
I currently have an endorsement with Fuse Goalkeeping for gloves and gear.
I prioritize academics and currently have a 4.226 gpa. As a junior, I’m enrolled in multiple AP and Honors classes. I get along well with my teachers and peers as I try to be helpful, encouraging, and stay positive.
I am a member of the National Honors Society and was chosen for the Rebel Tenacity Award among my peers. The past two summers, I helped organize and run a soccer camp for youth in our community.
I’ve always loved the game and believe my skills, work ethic, and talent as a keeper would benefit any team. I realize competition is tough and there are several great goalkeepers looking to play at the next level, but I believe in myself and my ability to make a positive impact if given the chance.
