My name is Joaquin Ovalle Jr, Class of 2022. I currently play for the Austin Texans USCL competitive team, as well as, Brownsville Galaxy local club team. I've been part of the South Texas Youth Soccer Association ODP program for the past 6 years "2014-2019." I been part of the State ODP team for the past 6 years and attended Region III Camp in Alabama each year. This year "2019" I was selected for the Region III ODP team. I currently attend Harlingen High School South and have been a starter in the soccer team since freshman year. I was awarded 2019 District Newcomer of the Year. In 2018 , my Brownsville Galaxy club team reached the National Presidents Cup Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana and I was awarded Best 11 of the tournament. Playing soccer for the past 14 years has taught me a lot about the sport. Bad and Good experiences in soccer throught out the years have contributed to the player I am now. My favorite quote is " Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." Working hard is very important! School, Club and private trainings are part of my weekly schedule. Working hard at soccer practices is what makes me a better player on the field. My collegiate goal is to attend a Division 1 Universtiy and get a degree in Sports Medicine. Playing for competitive college program is one of my dreams. I love the sport and playing while getting my college degree will be a great opportunity.
