Alexander Gomez '23 Recruiting Profile

I am in the graduating class of 2023 at Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas.  As a goalkeeper, I play for the Horn High School Varsity Team.  I am also the starting goalkeeper for Dallas Roma FC 18U Elite Team. I began playing 10 years ago and it immediately ignited a passion for the sport.  I have two years of starting experience on my junior varsity team, as well as four years starting experience on my club team’s 18U Elite team.

My goal is to play competitive college soccer while earning my college degree in biology or on a pre-med track. My ideal athletic experience would be one where I could contribute early in my collegiate career.  I strive to be an impact player, always looking for ways to help and improve my team.  I am dedicated, hard-working, passionate, and a team leader that believes in leading by example. I am a supportive and encouraging teammate and a very coachable player. I don't make excuses or dwell on my mistakes but rather focus on making the next play better. I not only give all I have in practice, but I work extensively outside of practice to further develop my skills to become better at the sport I truly love.

Playing a sport is about more than great athleticism and skill but much more about life…being part of a team, accountability, dedication, loyalty, and determination. I look forward to all challenges ahead.  With my successful balance between family, sports, and academics, I know I will be triumphant.
