Personal Statement

My name is Alejandro Villalva, I believe that I can be a big asset to any team. I am a team leader, a team player and role player. My experience as a team leader, team player and role player in Cross Country, Track, Acapella Choir and Mexican Folklorico group has allowed me to lead and be an engaged member in sports, academically and my extracurricular activities. I have been in Cross Country, Track and Acapella Choir all 4 years of high school. I have danced Mexican Folklorico over 13 years.

My footwork is like no other due to dancing over 13 years. I am very proud to be a part of our family-owned  non-profit dance group, Alma Y Corazon Tejano Ballet Folklorico . In addition to being a dancer, I also teach dance to kids and adults.

My goal is to compete as a student-athlete at the D1 or D2 level for cross country and track. I am committed to working hard and doing whatever is necessary to continue sharpening my skill as a Cross Country and distance track runner. Since the beginning of my joining Cross Country and Track, I have improved my times by leaps and bounds. My Cross Country 5k time started at 23 minutes and is currently 15:30.88, mile time/1600m started at 6:05.3 to a current 4:42.67 and 2 mile time/3200m started at 13:38 and is currently a 10:11.91. I am the current school record holder for the 3200 meter (10:11.91) and Cross Country (15:30.88). I competed in the 2021 USATF Junior Olympics in the 3000 meter, 1500 meter, 4x8, and 2k Steeplechase and also had very good results.

I am different from others because I can adapt to any situation and environment because of my diverse experience with my extracurricular activities and commitment to hard work as a student, athlete and personally. Academically, I would like to earn a degree in Forensics or related field. My parents are both college graduates and have a very strong work ethic and I am working hard to follow their example. Athletically, I am competitive, committed to hard work, team leader and player who is always willing to work harder than the last practice or meet.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
