Kane Scherer '19 Recruiting Profile

    I have been passionate about soccer for as long as I can remember. After playing my freshman year at Grand County High School, starting at Center Midfield and leading the team in scoring,  I realized I had to play at a higher level to reach my goals in soccer. I have foregone my Sophomore and Junior years to play club across the state line in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is a commitment of traveling 110 miles each way, twice weekly, for practice. This has taught me that there is no barrier large enough to prevent me from reaching my goals.

   Academics have always been extremely important to me and I have been able to balance sports and school, and plan to maintain my high GPA throughout college and beyond. Though it is my goal to play soccer at the highest level, I understand that my life's work will be primarily based on my education. Having one parent who was an Olympic athlete and the other a Physician has helped guide this balance of passion for sport and academic excellence.
