Personal Statement

My name is Maverick Cuadros, I currently attend Lake Braddock H.S in Northern Virginia and I will be a 2026 graduate. I proudly represent Fairfax Virginia Union in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL). 

My dream is to play Soccer at next level. I have a great work ethic and I'm very coachable. I want to find a place that feels like home and a coach that truly believes in me and sees what I can bring to the table for the program.

I am an all-in Soccer Player. I believe the skills needed to be successful in Soccer are complementary and make me a better athlete.

I know that playing in college is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life. I am always working to improve my skills and training to get bigger, faster, and stronger. I am a team leader and lead by example while also encouraging my teammates to always play and practice at their highest level, never forgetting that leadership is a privilege.

I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest-working players and one of the hardest-working recruits you’ll find. In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a good GPA. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the Pitch. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.

As a versatile player, I excel in multiple positions, including winger, striker, and occasionally attacking midfielder. What truly sets me apart from my peers is my relentless drive to take on defenders one-on-one, showcasing my skills in footwork, ball control, and creativity. I am comfortable playing in various attacking roles, which allows me to adapt to different game situations.

I am equally proficient with both feet, allowing me to strike or place the ball effectively from either side. I take pride in my ability to find and assist teammates, ensuring that selfless soccer is a hallmark of my play. My passing demonstrates finesse, and I constantly seek opportunities to involve others in the game. My soccer journey has been an ongoing exploration of skill development, influenced heavily by the encouragement and guidance of my coaches.

At the core of my soccer philosophy lies an unwavering work ethic and dedication to improvement. I approach each game and challenge with determination, consistently giving 110 percent effort. This commitment is not just about physical performance; it reflects my passion for the beautiful game and my desire to grow as a player and as human being.

My ultimate goal is to secure a scholarship and proudly represent a great Soccer Team and College institution. Beyond that, I aspire to fulfill my dream of becoming a professional soccer player, pursuing entrepreneurship(Real Estate) and competing for the U.S. in a World Cup. In summary, my journey as a soccer player is defined by a unique blend of skill, creativity, and an unyielding commitment to improvement through the highs and lows of the game . I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and remain dedicated to achieving my goals on and off the field.

I am a proud member of a military family. My father is a Marine, 20 years Marine Corps retired. Thanks to his sacrifices and example, I truly believe that my work ethic, discipline and commitment could be a great match for your program.
