Hi, my name is Sebastian Cannady. I’m enrolled at Fuqua School in Farmville, Virginia. I'm confident in saying I am an academically sound student, taking multiple honors courses including Anatomy, Pre-Calculus, and Chemistry. I’m a major component to our Envirothon team, which I specialize in soils for. I also partake in the annual Model UN or Mock United Nations; Hampden Sydney college hosts every year. Besides that, I stand as a backup for my schools Battle of the Brains team and had spent two years in the schools Theater course.
During my free time, when at home, I enjoy completing games, like Need for Speed and Final Fantasy. Those in which require assessing situations and reacting to them quickly yet efficiently, but also hour-long grinds to achieve single but necessary goals, which takes die-hard dedication. Though when given the chance I won't pass the opportunity to talk with friends and have fun.
When it comes to sports, I see that if I can't pull my weight, I don't deserve to play. While this may be a negative mindset, for the most part it's rather productive. I use this thinking to challenge myself to be better than not. To exemplify this, sort of soccer related as that’s mainly the cause, would be my first year, the year of 2019, kicking football for the school team. I'm here as the first string and I’ve never bothered trying to kick before Junior year, yet I’m now seen as the more reliable option for extra points. Not wanting to let the team down, I’d spend hours, dealing with the pain of repetitive impact, kicking, for just a few more yards range and just a shred more of accuracy. In more of a soccer point of view, to say I would be pulling weight would to be the point of where I feel I'd be making a positive impact on the team, whatever it be in the midfield creating plays and controlling the game.
