I have had a passion for soccer since I could kick a ball. I have been playing club soccer since I was four years old, and I have loved it ever since. I remember watching the Seattle Sounders play, and how I would reenact their plays in my living room. I had a knack to envision the same plays on the field, and at opportune moments, to assist scoring plays with my U04 teammates.
My coach, those early years on the Issaquah Gunners, saw I had a strong understanding of game strategy, strong technical skill, and encouraged me to try out for premier club soccer.
I tried out for premier club soccer at Lake Washington Premier FC in fifth grade. I have been a starter for their team ever since, playing primarily left back and expanding my skills to play midfield as well.
This past year I had the opportunity to recruit players to form my high school’s first junior varsity team at Annie Wright School. I led the team as captain, supporting my teammates and our coaches, to our first victories and an overall great first season. I look forward to our upcoming 2019-2020 season, and being part of a positive, supportive, hard-working team.
I am enjoying the opportunities and challenges that the honors classes offer at my high school, Annie Wright Schools. These will prepare me for my junior and senior years, when I plan to pursue the school’s IB (International Baccalaureate) Program and ultimately, an IB diploma with my graduation. I truly enjoy the community, our studies, global research, and the opportunity I have to balance my academics with soccer and other team sports: cross-country and basketball. So far, the variety of these sports has helped enhance my performance and strength on the soccer field.
I value the opportunity to be part of a team, to collectively build and draw on each other’s skills and strengths to become a dynamic soccer team. I am a thoughtful, perceptive leader who enjoys meeting people and working with administrators and my peers on community projects. I am honored to be selected to the Ambassador Program at Annie Wright, to work within my community and to welcome others to our school and soccer fields. I enjoy working hard, being part of a team and -close community. My goal is to find a college that offers: a community to contribute, a strong soccer program, international studies, and a challenging academic program.
