The love I have for this game goes beyond being its fan. I started playing soccer at the age of 3 at our local YMCA. When I was 8, I began to play competitively. At the age of 11, something inside of me clicked and soon blossomed into my own personal devotion and thrill that I am determined to pursue at the professional collegiate level.
I am a person with strong leadership and communication skills both on and off the field. I was named team captain at the age of 13 for club team Santitos. When I played with Club Atletico Cuervos in Jalisco, Mexico at the end of my sophomore year, I was nominated team captain. I have learned that teamwork quite literally makes the dream work, so I strive to genuinely connect with my teammates and peers, depending my environment, in order to successfully achieve our shared goals as one. Communication is key in any aspect in life. It makes people’s intentions clear and helps avoid misunderstandings. So I encourage my teammates to talk with each other and our coaches about any idea or concern in a respectful manner. I believe this builds a solid foundation for our team which makes it more difficult for us to crumble when confronted with any hardships.
I put in work to improve as a player year round. I played in club teams such as Beaver Dam United Soccer Club, Santitos, High School Soccer, Sunday Soccer League, and Club Atletico Cuervos. At the end of my sophomore year, I went to Mexico to tryout for a 3rd division team
called Acatlan Fc due to my dual citizenship not being procced in time I wasn't able to join the team but I got the opportunity to practice and scrimmage with them. I've gone to tryout camps, and through my most recent one I was recruited to join MLS Next ID’s team SC Wave. I am always putting in effort to improve my physical skills through training, exercising, and diet.
After I graduate high school, I plan to attend college. I am always yearning to learn something new. I work hard to maintain my GPA above a 3.0 and balance out soccer, school, and my extracurriculars. My extracurriculars include working part-time jobs and volunteering such as PALs. My involvement in all these activities provides me different perspectives and knowledge that adds on to my personal growth.
My dream is to play at the professional level. As I continue forward in my journey I strive to grow not only as a player but also as an individual. I am a dedicated and hardworking candidate who would love to be part of competitive soccer program that enriches me in both my athletic and academic aspects.
