My Father played soccer for the Wisconsin Badgers, so his love became mine and I was playing soccer almost as soon as I learned to walk. This was the start of my love for soccer. My older brother was an accomplished high school player as well, from trying to beat him in the backyard to teaming up with him for one year on High School Varsity team , I learned grit but also the incredibly strong bond teammates can forge. Looking up to my local older club teams and high school teams created my drive to be like them one day. I have learned my weaknesses and strengths and how to deal with each of them as a leader and a teammate. Learning to lead unstoppable teams was easy, but I learned more through teams that struggled. My goal for high school is to maintain at least my 3.7 GPA and continue to take challenging classes. As for college, my goal is to do the same at a strong academic university. As a younger soccer player, I loved playing and was selected to strong teams but was never a standout player on field or in goal. Through middle school and early high school, I developed a strong work ethic ,focused more on my time in goal and my skills improved quickly. Playing 3 sports has been challenging because at times I feel like I am missing out on experiences or trainings that single sport year-round athletes participate in, however, I also know that playing 3 different sports at very high levels has been extremely helpful in my athletic career. I feel I stay mentally fresh through my seasons without burnout. I have avoided overuse injuries and feel the cross training benefits my overall fitness level as an athlete. Through the experiences of multiple sports, I gain skills that others may not . With knowledge on how different teams, sports and coaches function combined with discipline and hard work to keep improving in all areas affords me advantages that make me a better individual athlete as well as a better team player.
