Personal Statement

I always knew I’d go to college. I always wanted to go in order to further my education. My dream is to be enrolled at a college/university that has a great academic background so I can graduate with honors, find a job in my major, and participate in an athletics program while there. I have always dreamed of playing sports at college, and my sport of focus is soccer.

Regardless of the sport, team, club, class, or competitive activity, I put in my best effort. I always do my best, even when I face adversity. Let’s take soccer as an example, I compete at my highest level regardless of the score and competition. I always play with heart whether there’s 1 minute or 89 minutes on the game clock because I hate to lose. So, I continue working hard and listening to advice from my coaches and teachers. Through their help and the help of my teammates, I continue to improve my skills and strength on and off the pitch and classroom.

I remember playing soccer ever since I was a little boy. I played for the Port Washington Soccer Club and Bavarian Soccer Club where four things helped me develop my skills. They were my family, coaches, teammates, and dedication to hard work and practice. Throughout all the years, my love for soccer increased. I want the opportunity to play soccer at the collegiate level.

In school, I worked hard to get results. I love learning new things which led me to take several honors and AP courses. As with soccer, when I faced adversity in my advanced classes, I did research or found help with classmates and teachers to better understand the concepts before and after school hours. My hard work and hustle worked well for me in the past, and I know that they will help me find success in the future.

I have the collegiate skills needed to succeed in class and play soccer at the highest level. As a four-sport athlete and team captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team. I just need to be given the chance.
