Joining the swim team was probably one of the best choices I've ever made. Swimming keeps me motivated, healthy and working hard. I started swimming four years ago when I was twelve, and have been swimming year round ever since then.
My freshman year my primary goal was to qualify for regionals, I accomplished my goal by attending all of the swimming and dryland practices. My sophmore year all I did was train for the 200 and 500 yard freestyle, this allowed me to place well at regoinals. For next year I plan to expand my focus to more races, my goal is to drop time on all of my races and break a school record.
Working with the team is one of my favorite things to do, its fun to swim and improve with them. I try to be a good example for the rest of my team, and keep them motivated and working hard. I also swim on a couple of relays mostly the 200 yard freestlye relay, it's fun to cheer and support the rest of the team. My all time favorite thing to do is go on away trips with the team, we play games and workout before a meet. Swimming is a team sport, you will do better and swim faster if you have the support of your teammates.
