What makes me different from other recruits? Discipline, something I have always had ever since my start in sports. Particularly with basketball, ever since I was 8 my dad and I would work everyday outside in the backyard for hours on end. With this work ethic I ended up becoming one of the best players in my age group in the nation. This was only possible for my discipline in playing the game, eventually it took a toll on other aspects of my life and worst of all my love for the game. Leading me to fade away in search of something new, something that I can bring my discipline to and something that I truly love. Thankfully, one night I came in and was watching the olympics 4x100 medley relay. A warm chill flowed through my body and my heart softened, watching Phelps, Miller, Murphy, and Andrew flown through that water like fish. I decided right then and there I wanna become a swimmer. Ever since, I have been swimming from the age of 14 to now. This sport is the only routine in my life that I truly enjoy, it keeps me happy and hopeful for everyday to swim. When everything in my world is crumbling swimming holds me together, it's my escape from the rest of the world. Swimming has always been an individual sport no opponent seeking to defeat, your only opponent is the one that lays inside your head. It's a battle from within, that has always been appealing to me. A win on my inner self is what leads to a wins in the physical world. My own merit of success is derived form my inner point of view of the sport. I have yet to find a coach who understands the way I approach swimming. I am know where near my potential but I will reach there one day. For any team I have ever been on with any sport, my personality is what truly shines out, I bring the jokes, and discipline to this sport. Making me memorable to past coaches and the coaches I have today.
