Focus is a concept that determines one's outcome. An athlete that is focused on their hopes, their goals, and their dreams will not lose sight of what they aspire to gain the most. Athletes that want to achieve their goals, and secure their personal records will go the extra mile to get it. Leaders that were once followers of those they looked up to worked hard, and separated themselves from average reach the top of the team. Focus and determination for success is key for maintaining the grind for success. These are all things that I put into play when I go to practice, train in a weight room, and race at a meet. I am always pushing myself every day, to new levels of pain and speed; all while taking every set a hundredth at a time. Outside of the pool, I am always reading words of motivation; receiving advice on training, recovery, and technique; and ensuring that I get the necessary amounts of sleep, nutrition, and time for school. I always set new goals when old ones are broken, and I periodically log my progress as I improve.
