Riya Patel '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Riya Patel and I am 17 years old. I am currently a junior at Valley Christian High School, playing on the varsity tennis team. In my freshman year, I played Singles 1/2 on our JV Team. My record was 11-2 and I was awarded League MVP. In my sophomore year, I was team co-captain, playing Singles 2. My record was 12-2. Since I have played singles for the past two years, my varsity coach thought I should use my strength as a tennis player to play doubles. In spring and summer, I have been a part of Junior Team Tennis at my club, Silver Creek Valley Country Club. When I’m not playing high school tennis in the fall, I play USTA tournaments on the weekends.

I have maintained a 3.82 GPA. I plan to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. I would like to obtain a dual degree in psychology and exercise science or kinesiology. I want to be an OT because I’ve always had a passion for helping others. With an OT degree, I can spend quality time helping people improve their daily lives. I am always eager to learn both on and off the tennis court. I hope to have the opportunity to play college tennis while pursuing my dreams.
