Personal Statement

My hope is to find a college where I can continue my love of swimming and also earn a degree in Computer Science. What I enjoy about swimming is competition, team comradery, discipline, and hard work. My goal is to achieve the highest level of competition as possible while improving my times and technique. I am a hard worker with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. I will be an asset to my future college team because I will do my best to represent my school, coaches, teammates, and myself. I plan to volunteer to help others learn to swim and when I am back home, I will work as a beach lifeguard to protect those in my community.

Academically the grades I earn come from hard work. A's do not come easily for me, so I have to spend time studying each day. I know what it takes to make the times in the pool and the grades needed in the classroom.

If I am selected to swim for a college, I will do my best to make the coaches proud.

ActivitiesI am a member and volunteer with my high school's Optimist Club and have been a member for 3 years. I volunteer twice a year with the Water Safety Program which helps 2nd grade students learn to swim. I assist teachers at our local middle and high schools to help set up and breakdown their classrooms. I mow lawns for service hours for those in need.
