John Valdespino '23 Recruiting Profile

I have been swimming since I was 4 years old. But didn't take it seriously until I was 12-13 years old, then I started swimming competitively when I was 16. My goal is to at least make it to the highest level of swimming I can, like NCAA Division I Swimming, but really its the Olympian level for me. I'm working every day, or at least every day I can so that I can be successful, and find the best scholarships for colleges like UCLA. The people I've worked with so far, have stated that I have a dedicated work ethic, I don't talk much, or at all; that I'll learn and do anything that they'll tell me to do, etc. I am not just good in athletics, but in school as well. I have a 3.5 GPA and got Honor Roll 2x in a row this year. I plan to take the SAT and harder courses for the last two years to come to increase opportunities. I am also a member of many clubs in my school. I also participate in community service. I plan to find and work with the best coaches of the state I'm in can offer, so that I can become the best version of myself when I swim. I plan to enlist in colleges like FAU, FIU, St. Thomas, and UCLA.
