Aloha, My name is Edwin "Tj" Barrett IV. I am from the island of Maui, Hawaii, where I have lived my whole life. I was interested in swimming at a young age, and when my parents signed me up for my first day I was hooked. I have been swimming with the Maui Dolphins Swim Club (MDSC) since then for the last nine years, roughly 8 years competitively. At every practice I intend on coming in with a positive attitude, willing to push myself to the limit, so I can perform my best at meets. As well as swimming for MDSC, I am also a part of my High School team, where I was voted team MVP last season. I am natural leader, and enjoy the group aspect of high school season, where I frequently led team events, stretches, and workouts. Another one of my main responsibilities was being the men's event coordinator, made responsible for getting everyone's intended meet events sorted and to my coach. During this past off season, I was elected Junior Athlete Representative by the Maui Age Group Swimming Association, where I now am in contact with the board and athletes, where we go over any issues or suggestions anyone may have. My responsibility as the athlete rep. is to be in contact with the athletes, where they can voice their opinions to me for myself to take in front of the board.
Academically, am currently attending King Kekaulike High School, where I am enrolled as a Junior (2022) in vigorous courses such as AP Computer Science and AP Calculus, as well as Design Technology, to send me down the path to Aerospace Engineering and Design, my intended major. As I mentioned earlier, I am a member of the school's swim team and track team, with track being a newer commitment, starting in my Sophomore year. I am dedicated to my education, as shown by my attained GPA of over a 4.0. I am also an active participant in the school's College Club and STEM Club. In the next year, I intend on joining the rotary club as well on top of the prior two, and continue with swimming and track.
