Swimming has been a huge passion of mine since I was 8 years old. I am the swimmer that goes to bed early because I have to get up at 4:30 am for practice - even during the pandemic and Chicago winters. My father was both a high school and Division 1 college swimmer, he is probably my biggest influence in swimming and life. Not only do I enjoy the meets and competitions, but the practices and seeing improvements in my times. Why do I want to swim competitively in college, I love the comradery of a team - being cheered on and cheering for my teammates. I feel that I rise to the challenge of swimming against strong, competitive swimmers. I am looking for a program that is established, strong and encouraging, a program that will help me improve as an athlete and a person. My best event has been the Breaststroke, although I am a solid Flyer and sprinter. During my senior year I will be working on improving my range of events as well as being the captain of my swim team. I enjoy being a leader and encouraging my fellow teammates. In college I hope to see significant drop in my times and being able to help and support my team in any area needed. I will put in any work that my coach deems necessary.
