AJ Wong's 2018-20...Personal Statement
My name is Andrew Wong (AJ). I am a Christian student athlete who is set to graduate in the class of '24. I am completely in love with the sport of swimming and hope to compete at the highest level I possibly can. My goals are to attend a D1 college and swim on the swim team as well as do really well in my classes. I also hope to qualify to swim at the Olympic Trials and make an NCAA final. I am a super friendly person who only wants to encourage and build up my teammates, coaches, and friends. I am always pushing myself to be the best swimmer, student, and person I can be. Whatever college or team that I join, I hope to leave it better than when I arrived. In addition to being super committed to swimming, I am also an extremely hard-working student. I always strive to get the very best grades that I can. In everything that I do, I will give my everything.

- I enjoy training and pushing myself. I currently train about 9 and a half hours per week in the water, 2 and half hours doing weights/dryland exercises, and about 3 hours of my own specific dryland work.

- AwardsI have received the academic excellence award (having no more than two Bs each quarter) every year single year. I have also received the PVS Scholar Athlete Award for my freshmen and sophomore year of high school. I have gotten 2nd place in my ACSI district spelling bee as well as 3rd place, 5th place, 2nd place, and 1st place in the ACSI Math Olympics. In addition to these, I have been class president for both my freshmen and sophomore years of high school and am currently the student government president for my school.
- ActivitiesI play the guitar for my school band, sing for my church, and play the ukulele. I enjoy mountain biking and like to play airsoft. I also enjoy playing video games, but not excessively. In addition to these, I enjoy hanging out with friends.
