Personal Statement
Dear prospective coaches,
I have been a competitive swimmer since I was 7 years old. I started with Raleigh Swim Association in the second grade. I had a lot of wonderful coaches and I really enjoyed being in the water. When I was 9 years old, my family moved to Newton MA. I immediately started swimming in NE and placed 5th overall in the 10 and under age group. Swimming kept my morale up. Moving was hard- transitioning to a new school, colder winters and a totally different lifestyle. The one continuity: my swimming. When I started the 6th grade at Beaver Country Day School, the school I have been attending ever since, I switched to Gator Swim Club as well. I found my home for the next 6 years - at my school and my swim club. I am passionate and tenacious and have experienced many transitions that make me more well rounded and resilient. I am eager to take on leadership roles whenever I can. I can truly say that I own my swimming. It is part of me and along with my coaches, I have the commitment and discipline to embark upon collegiate swimming.

- ActivitiesI compete in a mock trial club for Beaver. We go to Boston Municipal Court and compete against other high schools. I received a score of 8/10 and 9/10 for testimony as a witness in two competitions this year. The last three summers I have been a volunteer camp counselor. In 2018 summer, I was the art director, responsible for art instruction for all campers age 9-12. summer of 2019, I was a volunteer at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
