I began swimming for the YMCA Central Branch in Worcester at the age of 9. Within the first year I qualified for New England Championships and have every year since. I had struggled in my early school years due to inattention so being in the pool gave me direction and focus as well as more self confidence. Over the years I was mentored by my older team mates and have since taken on a mentoring/leadership role. My swim "family" has taught me a great deal about respect both for myself and others as well as discipline and values.
I strive to swim at the collegiate level and to excel academically as well as athletically. I'm not afraid to be challenged to be the best version of myself. I'm hoping to study cyber security and eventually work for Homeland Security, but most importantly to gain greater skills in and out of the pool at any school I attend. I want to make a positive contribution and be a role model for any student athlete that needs the encouragement and hold the belief that you can do anything!
